2026 Tournament Results & Gratitude

On April 12, 2026, friends, family, golfers, and supporters gathered once again at the Charles T. Myers Golf Course in Charlotte, North Carolina for the 16th Annual Eric C. Hugo Memorial Golf Tournament. Under a clear and welcoming sky, the day unfolded exactly as it has for over a decade and a half with laughter echoing down the fairways, spirited competition on the greens, and the warm, unmistakable sense of community that this event has cultivated since its very first round in 2010.

This year’s tournament was, by every measure, another resounding success. Beautiful weather set the stage for a day that honored the memory of Eric C. Hugo while looking forward with purpose and generosity.

The 16th Annual edition brought together golfers of all skill levels, competing across two flight classifications with both gross and net scoring categories. The friendly competition was matched only by the warmth shared between participants — old friends reconnecting on familiar fairways and new faces becoming part of the tradition.

The Charles T. Myers Golf Course team once again proved to be the ideal host, with the course staff’s professionalism and gracious support contributing to a seamless and enjoyable experience from tee time through the final putts. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteers kept everything running smoothly, their cheerfulness and commitment making a tangible difference throughout the day. The tournament’s generous sponsors, whose support makes the event financially viable and the charitable donation possible, also deserve recognition for their continued investment in Eric’s legacy.

2025 LA SALLE VISIT

2025 LA SALLE VISIT

In December of 2025, the Hugo family was fortunate enough to travel to the Philippines for the holidays.  Making the trek from Charlotte, North Carolina to Chicago, Illinois and meeting family to eventually landing a visit to De La Salle Lipa in Batagas.

The students and staff were out for the holiday break, but the Hugo family still met with the Scholarships Office for a campus visit.  Since the inception of the ECH Memorial Golf Tournament and donations in 2010, the initial staff that handled the scholarship has changed.  This recent visit was a great opportunity to meet some of the office that organize and execute the scholarship activites in-person.

A very nice visit overall, but especially memorable for Eric’s grandchildren:  Oona, Johan, and Ronan.
